WASHINGTON, D.C. — Office of Thrift Supervision Director John M. Reich announced the selection of Wayne G. Leiss as the agency’s Chief Information Officer (CIO).
“Wayne is a proven leader and strategic manager with strong analytical and technical skills,” said Director Reich. “I look forward to working with him in this key position."
Before joining OTS, Mr. Leiss served as the CIO at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, where he worked since 2005. He has over 25 years government experience in policy, procurement, systems management and process improvement.
Mr. Leiss has an MBA from Stanford University, a Masters in Systems Engineering from UCLA and a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
The Office of Thrift Supervision, an office of the Department of the Treasury, regulates and supervises the nation's thrift industry. OTS's mission is to ensure the safety and soundness of, and compliance with consumer protection laws by, thrift institutions, and to support their role as home mortgage lenders and providers of other community credit and financial services. OTS also oversees the activities and operations of thrift holding companies that own or control thrift institutions.
